Is any additional manual handling training required?
No. However, if you are, for example, working with chemicals, you might want to do our Dangerous Goods Handler course. If you're using a forklift or electric pallet jack, we have training for those. Or, if you are driving for a living, you might want to look at our 30+ courses aimed at light and heavy vehicle drivers.
Does this course include a practical assessment with a trainer?
No, none is required.
Are there any relevant NZQA unit standards for manual handling?
In this course, we cover information contained in unit standard 17459 Demonstrate and apply knowledge of safe manual handling practices in the workplace, 17591 Demonstrate knowledge of the prevention and management of discomfort, pain and injury in the workplace, and 17592 Identify the causes of back injury and methods to prevent back injuries in the workplace. However, this is not a unit standard course.
