Traffic Management and ACC Risk

As our clients know, we are arguably the leading ACC Brokers in NZ covering a lot of the blue collar industries. It is with good reason we partner with key industry associations like SARNZ, CCNZ, Transporting NZ and others.

The savings we create; the risk we remove; the demystifying we do; and the problems we make go away are unparalleled.

We are currently focusing on the Traffic Management industry.

Sadly, this industry is not well represented with ACC and a lot of employers are overpaying, and at times substantially.

Why? Well, it’s all innocent enough I guess. No body has ever stopped and asked why we are paying ACC levies. As in, like any other insurance, what is our risk and what should we pay?

That is why we are taking a particular focus in this industry. We need to realign a few things and reduce some ACC bills!!

Did you know?

  • There are numerous employers who have the maximum ACC loading of 100% via Experience Rating. Please note, this is on top of a lost 50% discount - so we are talking 150% overpayment!

  • There are also employers enjoying the 50% discount so this is very much possible.

  • Most traffic management companies have over 50 staff with a sizeable number into the hundreds with multi branch networks. As such, payroll is high meaning the ACC levies are high.

  • Over 80% of injuries are soft tissue which is mostly made up of sprains and strains.

  • Based on our research, we would suggest claims are not well managed if at all. There is minimal work being done holding ACC accountable for good and timely rehab; educating workers on how to manage injuries especially sprains and strains; and definitely very little focus on challenging claims that should not be allocated to the employer - even though it is a legitimate claim (welcome to the ACC legislation).

We recently did a blog on the results we can get with ACC for larger employers. This applies to traffic management directly.

When if ever, have you had an ACC Risk Review done?

We do a free review on what is possible in the ACC space. Why free? Because we are confident there is always something that needs to be fixed and you will like what we propose. After 13 years of doing this we have a pretty good track record and are confident you will like what we find.

If you are still skeptical, we saved one traffic management firm, NZ owned over $152,000 in ACC levies. Yes, that’s right, $152K!!!

Why don’t we chat and we can run through our proposition with you.

Both I and Sue Walton are available so please phone or email us.
