Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA), due diligence requires officers to take proactive, reasonable steps to ensure their organisation (PCBU) complies with its safety duties. It means actively acquiring health and safety knowledge, understanding risks, and ensuring resources and processes are in place and used to manage hazards.

Good governance isn’t just about financial performance—it’s about creating a safe, sustainable business where people thrive. Under the HSWA, directors and officers have a legal duty to exercise due diligence.
