Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA), due diligence requires officers to take proactive, reasonable steps to ensure their organisation (PCBU) complies with its safety duties. It means actively acquiring health and safety knowledge, understanding risks, and ensuring resources and processes are in place and used to manage hazards.

Under the HSWA, directors and officers have a legal duty to exercise due diligence. This course equips you with the knowledge and practical tools to meet those obligations confidently, protect your people, and safeguard your organisation’s reputation.

In this course you will:

• Understand the impact of the current Bill before Parliament that will change our H&S legislation.

• We discuss Contractor Prequals (Sitewise, Totika, ISO45001) and their impact on meeting Due Diligence.

• Understand how psychological risk is managed under Due Diligence.

• Understand the role ACC employer levies can play.

• Use tools to identify, measure, and continually improve risks and best practice.
